Contact the Clerk

There is one way to reach this desk, and it is email: [email protected]. Messages go to the person who writes the filings, Marc-André Fortin, and are read by a human rather than sorted by a support system.

What we publish and what we deliberately do not

No contact form, because forms swallow messages and give the sender nothing to keep. No phone line and no live chat: this is a one-person editorial desk, not a support centre, and a number nobody answers would be worse than no number at all. No public postal address either — there is no office counter to visit, and printing an address that leads to a locked door would be theatre rather than transparency. If an address is genuinely required for a legal or regulatory purpose, ask by email and it will be provided directly.

Email is checked on working days and answered as quickly as one person reasonably can. If a message bounces back, that is a fault on this side rather than anything the sender did wrong; trying again after a day usually clears it.

What this desk can help with

  • Corrections. A wrong date, an outdated rule, a misread regulation, a broken link. This is the most useful mail we get — see File a Correction for what to include.
  • Sources. Ask where a statement in a filing came from and you will get the actual reference, not a summary.
  • Coverage suggestions. An administrative or regulatory question about gambling in Québec or Canada that is not filed here yet.
  • Commercial and disclosure questions. Anything about the affiliate arrangements described in the affiliate notice.

What this desk cannot help with

We are not an operator, a regulator or a helpline, so some requests have nowhere to land here. We cannot close, unlock, verify or refund a gambling account, release a withdrawal, or intervene in a dispute with any operator — we have no relationship with your account and no standing to act on it. We cannot process a self-exclusion; that is done through the platform concerned, and in Québec’s regulated case through Loto-Québec’s Espacejeux. We cannot give legal, tax or financial advice about an individual situation: for that, contact the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, Revenu Québec, the Canada Revenue Agency or a qualified professional, depending on the question. Guest posts, link placements and sponsored-content offers are declined without reply.

If the question is urgent and personal

If gambling is causing harm to you or to someone close to you, do not wait on an email reply. Jeu: Aide et Référence answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, free and confidentially, at 1-800-461-0140. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
